Water Conservation

Water in Northern Colorado is an especially precious resource!

As our population grows and climate change impacts weather patterns, it becomes increasingly important to use water wisely.

Join us in taking action to protect this vital element for generations to come. Let’s dive in! 💧🌎

Home

  • In the Shower
  • Only flush when necessary: If it’s just liquid waste, consider skipping the flush! 🚽
  • Wash clothes less often, air them more often, and solar dry most often!

Yard

  • Convert some or all of your lawn to low-water or no-water xeriscaping
  • Plant drought-tolerant, pollinator-friendly plants (either native or regionally adapted to Northern Colorado)
  • Install a rain barrel to collect water for your garden.
  • Optimize your water use with a free sprinkler checkup
  • Install a smart sprinkler controller to water only as much as needed
